The Inter-Tribal Council in Oklahoma has expressed concerns about problems with housing and health care for Native Americans. They have reached out to Congressman James R. Jones for support in securing funding for a new hospital and addressing the shortage of physicians. The Council is urging Jones to be a representative for the Indian people and carry their concerns forward to improve overall progress in Indian affairs. Senator Abourezk has also raised similar concerns about the lack of funding and support for Indian Health Services.
